Editor's note: The following obituary was provided by Poole Funeral Home. Cheryl J. "Sherri" Larson, 68, went to be with the Lord on March 9, 2013 at her Saukville home surrounded by family. She was born February 21, 1945 in Independence, Iowa to Fred and Irnola Sauer Cherry. In the mid 1970’s she came to Wisconsin settling in Saukville. She married Victor A. Larson of Hillsboro, North Dakota on April 11, 1986 in Port Washington, Wisconsin. Sherri worked as a machinist in the tool room at Doerr Electric for many years. She also worked as the bookkeeper for Congregation Shalom and more recently was a ticket taker at the Marcus Movie Theater in Saukville. She enjoyed reading, sewing and crafting. Andrew Gary Madden passed away on Friday. He is remembered as outgoing and a lover of music, who also enjoyed traveling, softball, hunting, trap shooting and was an avid Packers and Brewers fan.

He was 21 years old. Andrew was born in Menomonee Falls on May 26, 1991, son of Brent Madden and Kristie Grigg Noll. Andrew grew up in the Port Washington area, graduating from Port Washington High School in 2009. Andrew was very outgoing, and made friends wherever he went. He was a member of Open Door Bible Church and the Knellsville 4-H Club. Andrew loved music, and played the guitar, trumpet, piano and the spoons. Waukesha man, 57, died Thursday.
Robert “Bob” G. Schmidt, of Waukesha, died on Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013, at the age of 57 years. Bob was born on July 28, 1955, in Port Washington, WI the son of Raymond and Beatrice (Dreblow) Schmidt. He started his career in the auto industry working for Kennedy Chrysler/Hub in 1976 and became their shop foreman. In 1989, Bob and Amy started their own business along with his brother called Professional Auto where they ultimately expanded with two locations until 2000. He then went on to work for the Catholic Urban Academy as a maintenance manager until he took the position as a facilities director with St. Mary Catholic Church from 2005 until present. Ms. Kelly Phillips, of Thomas Drive in Port Washington, passed away unexpectedly following a tragic car accident early Sunday morning, June 10, 2012. She was 37 years old. Kelly was born on January 14, 1975 in Port Washington, daughter of Michael and Marie Mauch Wegner. Kelly attended local schools and graduated from Port Washington High School with the Class of 1993. She attended Cardinal Stritch University and earned her degree as a Registered Nurse in 2007. Funeral arrangements have been set for Saukville resident Tim Karrels, whose body was found in his apartment on Sunday night. A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Eernisse Funeral Home in Port Washington, with visitation lasting from 4 to 7 p.m. The State Fire Marshall concluded Monday that Karrels, 36, started a fire in his apartment and committed suicide by gunshot. Saukville Fire Chief Gilly Schultz said Karrels started the fire using gasoline. Karrels was a Saukville firefighter, a DJ and owner of Doc's Darts & Pool Supply in Port Washington. Forget Voter ID. Today, during the state's first recall primary election, poll workers from communities in southeastern Wisconsin reported overvoting as the most common "problem" they've faced.
The unusual rules of Tuesday's historic recall primary election are creating some confusion among voters throughout southeastern Wisconsin, according to local election officials. In most primary elections, voters have to decide whether they're going to vote for all Republican or all Democratic candidates. But in Tuesday's recall race, voters can cast a ballot for a Republican in one race and a Democrat in another. And that is leading to some problems with overvoting — where voters wind up voting for more than one candidate in a race. Problems have been reported in Wauwatosa, Shorewood, Brookfield, Mount Pleasant, Caledonia, Greendale and elsewhere. Services for Port native and pilot William Didier, who died when the medical transport plane he was flying went down in a Chicago suburb this week, are set to start at 11 a.m. Saturday. Didier, 58, was one of five total on the flight; two others died and two survived. Two days after Port Washington native William Didier, 58, died when the medical transport plane he was flying went down in a Chicago suburb, his relatives in Port are coping with the loss to their tight-knit family. Peter Didier, William's older brother by seven years, lives on a farm a few miles north of downtown Port Washington on County Highway KW with his three sons, who together own RE/MAX United real estate in Port Washington. A pilot who grew up in Port Washington died Monday night when the medical transport plane he was flying went down in rural Illinois. William Didier, 58, was the pilot of the plane that crashed in Riverwoods, IL at about 11 p.m., according to the Daily Herald. John Bialek, 80, and wife Ilomae, 75, were also died in the crash. William, 58, had been flying professionally for Trans North Aviation, which owned the plane, for several years, according to his nephew Dave Didier.
