Located above the former Brewmeister's Trading Post, the unique apartment spaces are now ready for use.
After undergoing extensive remodeling, two new luxury apartment spaces are now ready for use in Port's downtown. Building owner Ross Leinweber said the apartments have "all new appliances, custom cabinetry, granite countertops in kitchen and bath, all new and refinished hard wood flooring, washer and dryer in each unit, as well as all new central air and forced air furnace." A few touch ups, suchs adding mirrors and blinds, will be added soon. The different units, 322 N. Franklin St., offer a "a very unique space for the downtown," Leinweber said. As renovations of the former Brewmeister's Trading Post near completion, building owner Ross Leinweber dishes on the unique apartment spaces as well as a modern retail space soon to be available.
While building owner Ross Leinweber is not quite ready to reveal the final product of his remodeled space at 322 N. Franklin St., he said things are looking good for the former Brewmeister's Trading Post. "We have generally a solid lead for a (commercial) tenant," he said of the modernized space on the first floor, "but we're not in a naming stage at this point." The Port Washington Common Council extended a raze order on the historic buildings, giving Gertjan van den Broek a chance at ownership.
They’re not cats, but the former M&I Bank buildings seem to have multiple lives. On Tuesday, the Port Washington Common Council again granted an extension on the raze order for the historic structures. Aldermen were encouraged by concept redevelopment plans presented by Port resident Gertjan van den Broek of Renew Port Holdings LLC, who also confirmed that he has financing in place. Previously, the buildings at 122 N. Franklin St. survived three demolition deadlines: Though the new demolition date is March 31, a firmer vision for renovating the buildings emerged on Tuesday. Van den Broek, who also owns Harry's Restaurant and recently purchased Java Dock, has been working with architect Jim Reed on a tentative plan that sees the building …
