Dockside Deli and Port Washington State Bank were recognized by the PWSSD board for their nominations to the Wisconsin School Board Association 2012 Business Honor Roll.
Two local businesses were honored at the Port Washington-Saukville School Board meeting on Monday night with plaques recognizing their placement on the Wisconsin School Board Association 2012 Business Honor Roll. Dockside Deli and the Port Washington State Bank were two of more than 70 businesses nominated statewide for the honor. A representative from the Wisconsin School Board Association was present at the meeting to deliver the plaques. School Board member Brian McCutcheon was also recognized by the association for his commitment to students and the schools. Port Washington Chamber of Commerce will accept nominations through Oct. 15
Know a Port Washington citizen or business devoted to the betterment of the community? Nominate them for the 2012 Business of the Year and Citizen of the Year, presented by the Chamber of Commerce. Contact Lisa Crivello at the Chamber of Commerce for a nomination form by calling 284-0900. Nominations are due Oct. 15 and the awards banquet is Nov. 14. Other awards presented are the City Beautification Award and the Outstanding Achievement Award. The Port Washington Chamber of Commerce hosted a dinner on Wednesday night to honor recipients of this year's awards.
Recently named Port Washington Chamber of Commerce's Outstanding Citizen of the Year, school Supernitendent Michael Weber was struck speechless. With tears in his eyes and a look of extreme gratitude on his face, Weber walked to the front of the room during a dinner on Wednesday night honoring the award winners to accept his plaque and also his title. "I'm just kind of lost for words, this was incredible," Weber said. "I'm accepting this award for all of us, for everybody that makes our community so special." Weber's wife sat in the crowd, along with his mother — who worked as a paralegal until age 80, Weber said. The Port Washington Chamber of Commerce recently announced winners for its 2011 Awards Banquet. A banquet will be held starting at 5:15 p.m. Nov. 16, with dinner at 6:30 p.m., at the Memories Ballroom in the award winners' honor.
