PD: Cat Euthanized After Shot by Pellet Gun; Shooter Unknown

A roundup of recent activity from the police blotter also includes a stolen fish fry sign and a caller concerned about people on the breakwall during potentially dangerous weather.

Condolences go out to the owner of this four-legged furball. The Port Washington resident reported at 8 p.m. Oct. 30 that his cat had been shot by someone using a pellet gun while the animal was roaming outside his South High Street resident.  The owner did not know who was responsible for the shooting, and the cat had to be euthanized because of its injuries. Listen....I live in this neighborhood and find it very hard to believe this happened however I have a very small dog and this cat that we are referring to was always in my yard and leaving its mess behind. Port PD: School Bus Cigarette Sales Pitch Lands Teen Citation

A roundup of recent blotter activity also includes a cat and dog on the loose.

It's probably unlikely he was checking IDs when this 15-year-old student was attempting to sell cigarettes on the school bus. Officers made contact with the teen at 8:05 a.m. Oct. 16 after a report of his activity was called in by the Port Washington High School, according to the police report. They found that the teen was in possession of a pack of Malboro's. He was cited for Tobacco on School Property, and also suspended for the remainder of the day. More from the reports:
