Olivia Act: Local Business Offers Free Photo Shoot in Memory of Newtown Victims
Diane Kinzer Photography is taking nominations for a family deserving of a free photo shoot as part of a movement by photographers across the country to honor the memory of the victims of the Sandy Hook Elementary shooting.
One month after the tragic Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting that stole 26 lives and shattered many others, people across the country are continuing movements to honor the memory of those lost. One such movement, called The Olivia Act, remembers 6-year-old Olivia Engel, who died in the arms of a police officer as a result of the Dec. 14 shooting, according to the New Haven Register. The Engel family had photos taken shortly before the tragedy — images that later circled the nation in remembering the little girl. A Facebook page and blog about the movement points out how extremely important those photos must be to the family — and explains how one photographer saw that as a meaningful opportunity to help others and remember the victim…
