Howard and Katie Emory, who've lived in Saukville for 24 years together and regularly participate in the Badger 5 drawing, are "still pinching" themselves after the recent win.

Emory said her husband, Howard — who goes by the name Skip — works third shift. After he had left for work, Emory went to the gas station and turned in her ticket. Workers at the local Tri-Par station, 305 W. Two winning tickets sold in Missouri and Arizona, while a West Allis gas station sells a $1 million winner.

Nine other tickets sold in won $10,000 and one additional $10,000 ticket was turned into a $40,000 winner because the player bought Powerball's Power Play prize multiplier feature, the state …

So maybe you didn't get that large screen TV at Walmart because you weren't there early enough or valued your own personal safety to wait until later. It may not matter that you missed these deals if you can manage get to local stores to buy a lottery ticket by 8 p.m. Wednesday. The Powerball estimated jackpot now sits at $500 million, according to the Powerball website, the largest in its history. The previous top windfall was $365 million, and was claimed by eight co-workers in Lincoln, NE, in 2006. The Powerball numbers for Saturday were 22-32-37-44-50, and the Powerball was 34. The lottery claimed more than 2 million winners on the Nov. 24 drawing, but no jackpot winners among the 42 states which participate. The jackpot could end up …

I love how merciful God is! Such an unexpected answer to prayer (and not a prayer for money either). But this certainly does take care of the old truck situation! Their generosity to single mothers and to friends far away demonstrates the depth of heart that these two have. So happy for them!! They certainly deserve these blessings!   more ›
