Port Man Gets 9 Years Prison in Drunken, Fatal Crash

The driver of the car in a one-vehicle crash that killed a Port Washington woman in June was sentenced to 9 years in prison on Monday in relation to the incident. Jaron S. Omon, of Port Washington, plead guilty in September to the charges of homicide by intoxicated use of vehicle in the death of 37-year-old Kelly Phillips. Omon's preliminary blood test showed a .22 blood alcohol content. In court on Monday, his defense attorney said his guilty plea showed he had taken responsibility for his decision to drive drunk, according to JSOnline.com. So Carly should have gotten 27 years in prison then...judges are harder on men than women I am guessing...was it the same judge that sentenced Carly?   more ›
