Sentencing Delayed in Hit-and-Run Incident After Defendant Forgets to Show

Michael Frey, convicted of hit-and-run and possession of narcotics and of a controlled substance, was taken into custody on Wednesday after his sentencing was delayed because he "forgot" to check in with court officials.

A Saukville man found guilty of a hit-and-run crash over the 2012 Fish Day weekend is back in custody after forgetting to check in with law enforcement regarding a presentencing investigation. Michael Frey, 21, appeared in court on Wednesday for a sentencing hearing that ultimately was delayed because the pre-sentencing investigation had not "been completed due to defendant not making contact with Department of Corrections," according to court records. The investigations are conducted so that the courts can have the "fullest understanding possible of the defendant's life and circumstances at sentencing," according to the Wisconsin State Public Defender's Office website. Frey Found Guilty for Fish Day Hit-and-Run

The 21-year-old Saukville man is also found guilty for possession of narcotics and possession of a controlled substance for items found in his car after it was impounded; he will appear in court in January for a sentencing hearing.

A 21-year-old Saukville man charged with hit-and-run causing injury after striking a pedestrian over Fish Day weekend changed his plea from "not guilty" on Thursday, canceling a jury trial set to start next week. Michael Frey is now found guilty on charges of hit-and-run, as well as charges for possession of narcotics and possession of a controlled substance for items found in his car after it was impounded. He will appear in court at 3 p.m. Jan. 23 for a sentencing hearing. Frey Enters 'Not Guilty' Plea in Hit-and-Run Incident

Michael Frey, a 20-year-old Saukville man charged with a hit-and-run accident over Fish Day weekend who was also later found to be in possession of narcotics, has entered a not guilty plea for all charges.

A 20-year-old Saukville man charged with hit-and-run causing injury after striking a pedestrian — who turned out to be a friend — entered a not guilty plea to the charges on Thursday. Michael Frey also entered a not guilty plea in connection with charges for possession of narcotics and possession of a controlled substance for items found in his car after it was impounded.
