Three conservancy groups are looking into buying south side lakefront property that was once slated for massive, high-end development, reported the Ozaukee Press. The Ozaukee Washington Land Trust, The Nature Conservancy and an Ozaukee County department want to purchase and preserve the 206-acre parcel. The land could become a nature preserve that would include a one-mile shoreline with environmentally sensitive areas, an important part of the migratory bird corridor, reported the Ozaukee Press. The property is listed at $18 million by Waukesha State Bank who took over the property two years ago through a foreclosure. In an attempt to sell a Port Washington south side lakefront property, Waukesha State Bank is reaching out to a national audience by advertising the property in the Wall Street Journal’s Mansion section, reported the Ozaukee Press. The Wall Street Journal has featured Port Washington south side lakefront property once slated for massive, high-end development in the real estate Mansion section. The 206-acre parcel is listed at $18 million. Waukesha State Bank took over the property two years ago through a foreclosure.
