Santa, Elves Available for Photos at Humane Society

Take home a photo with a $5 donation benefiting the Wisconsin Humane Society Ozaukee Campus.

Editor's note: The following information is taken from a press release from the Wisconsin Humane Society Ozaukee Campus. Ho-ho-ho! Join the festive atmosphere at Ozaukee Campus on Saturday, December 8 from 10:00 a.m.– 4:00 p.m. Bring your kids and companion animals to meet with Santa and his elves and sit on Santa’s lap for a very special holiday photo. A $5 donation per photo will directly benefit the animals at the Ozaukee Campus.  Plus, all adopters on Saturday will get FREE pictures with Santa. Santa Writes Letter Back to Local Kids

Letter from Santa answers questions from students at Lincoln Elementary School — offering insight you won't want to miss out on.

A group of Lincoln Elementary School students recently took the time to write letters to Santa. Beyond letting him know what they want for Christmas, the students had all sorts of questions about Santa's operation in the North Pole. Patch sent the letters to Santa, and this is his reponse: To all the great kids in Port Washington and Saukville, Ho ho ho and thank you very much for writing to me! I am glad to hear you are all doing well and happy to report many of you have been very good this year! I am doing just fine, the elves are busy and Mrs. Claus is, too — busy baking lots of Christmas treats for every one up here in the North Pole! UPDATED: Holiday Fireworks Moved to New Year's Eve

The National Weather Service is calling for rain on Saturday, something that may cause some planned events to change.

Updated 1:01 p.m. Saturday: The Christmas in the Corner fireworks, scheduled for after tonight's parade, have been postponed to New Year's Eve due to the inclement weather. Outdoor movies planned for the Beanies parking lot have been moved to the lower level of the Holiday Inn. Look for Port Washington-Saukville Patch at this event. All other events are still on at this time. With a 90 percent chance of rain forecast for the Port Washington area on Saturday, Christmas on the Corner organizers have set in place a few "plan b" arrangements. While Sara Grover, executive director for Port Washington Main Street, said the group remains optimistic that the weather will hold out, it's still preparing for the possible downpour.
