Parking Problems? Survey Will Anaylze Port's Situation

Port Washington officials have approved a parking survey set to be complete this year by the Southeastern Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission.

After suggesting the idea last fall, Port Washington officials have finally received the green light to perform a study of the city's downtown parking situation. Officials brought up the idea of approaching the Southeastern Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission to do a parking survey in the downtown area in September, and the city's request was answered this month. SEWRPC — an planning agency for seven counties, including Kenosha, Milwaukee, Ozaukee, Racine, Walworth, Washington, and Waukesha — is funded by tax levies at those county levels as well as federal and state aids, according to its website. I am a resident & business owner in this City and can’t just watch anymore what is happening with our ordinances. It seems like City Government is totally ignoring voices of its citizens and local organizations doing everything they can to bring more people and popularize our activities. Job Creators Tell Sensenbrenner Government Must Get Out of Their Way

The congressman and other elected officials from southeastern Wisconsin meet with business leaders to talk about getting America back to work.

The question of how do we — as a country — create more jobs came to Brookfield Tuesday afternoon as 15 small business leaders from the Milwaukee area met with Republican U.S. Rep. James Sensenbrenner. Sensenbrenner and several Republican state lawmakers who represent southeastern Wisconsin spent most of the hour-long session at the congressman's office listening to suggestions for growing business in the nation and region.
