A .22 rifle is missing from a Port Washington home, and while the resident doesn't know for sure when it was taken, he had a couple suspects in mind.
Police are still searching for a missing .22 rifle from a Port Washington home despite a few possible suspects that surfaced. A resident in the 700 block on Milwaukee Street reported the rifle missing at 8:11 p.m. April 21, according to police reports. The resident noticed the rifle was missing from his usually locked bedroom just a few days earlier, but though perhaps a family member borrowed it for target practice. After making calls to several family members who did not have the rifle, the resident realized it was likely stolen, the report said. Sometimes it's nice to get surprises, but not when those incidents are accompanied with an eerie ounce of suspicision. A 26-year-old Port Washington resident of the 1100 block of West Portview Drive called police at 1:19 p.m. Thursday. According to police reports, the resident said an unmarked package had been dropped off at his residence. Eventually someone contacted the resident while he was at work, the report said. From that call he learned that the box belonged to a former tenant of this residence. The package was delivered to its rightful owner, who wasn't creeped out by it at all — police reports said the former tenant claimed the package. More from the reports:

Port Washington officials say residents will have to pay for stolen bins starting May 1 if their garbage and recycling cans serial numbers are not submitted to the city.
With reports of at least five garbage and recycling carts stolen from Port Washington residents since February, the city is asking for action from citizens to avoid having to pay fees for the thefts. A press release from the city says: "Due to a recent theft of garbage and recycling carts, the City of Port Washington is requesting that all residents record the serial numbers of their garbage and recycling carts and report these numbers to the Department of Public Works. Starting May 1, 2013, any garbage and recycling cart that is stolen from a residence in Port Washington and the property owner and/or the city does not have the serial numbers, will have to pay Advanced Disposal to replace the garbage and recycling cart." Somebody somewhere is enjoying a new wardrobe after a thief hit the Maytag Laundromat in Port Washington. A 20-year-old Maytag customer called Port Washington police at 4:13 p.m. Friday from the laundromat, 1036 S. Spring St., according to a police report. The woman said her laundry had been stolen. She told police there was a possible suspect that fled the scene, but she had no details about that suspect to assist in the investigation, the report said. Hope she found some new outfits herself. Among other things, it makes you wonder what this kid had for breakfast. Police responded to the Port Washington High School at 9:18 a.m. Friday after staff were concerned that a student was "under the influence," according to police reports. Police issued the student a preliminary breath test, and the student registered at .07 BAC. Officers gave the 17-year-old a citation for underage alcohol consumption. More from the reports:

Recent incidents involving this Port Washington resident seem to involve a stalker of some form — or just a lot of bad luck. A Port resident in the 1500 block of North Holden Street called Port police at 11:09 a.m. Jan. 28, according to police reports, to report the back door of his residence wide open; the caller as found $200 missing from the home. The resident said money had also recently been stolen from them twice at work, totalling $90 missing. There are no suspects. More from the reports:

A 32-year-old Saukville woman is facing felony charges for retail theft after allegedly stealing the items from a Cedarburg jewelry store.
A Saukville woman is facing felony charges after stealing rings from a Cedarburg jewelry store and then trying to sell them to a neighboring business. Onyetta Kretlow, 32, was charged on Monday in Ozaukee County Courts with one charge of felony retail theft, intentionally taking something. She faces three years and six months in prison as well as $10,000 in fines. Kretlow visited Ambruster Jewelers in Cedarburg on January 15 and was looking at a variety of jewelry, according to the criminal complaint. Kretlow was working with a single employee, and "appeared to be trying to distract (the employee) by having (the employee) look all around the store." A 45-year-old Saukville woman is facing a felony charge after using a credit card she opened in her dad's name to make purchases. Kelly Nelson is out of custody on a $2,500 signature bond and is now awaiting a status hearing at 10 a.m. Feb. 14 in connection with the identity theft-financial gain charge. If convicted, Nelson faces $10,000 in fines and 6 years in prison. Nelson's father received a letter in the mail on Dec. 6 that a credit card had been opened in his name, according to the criminal complaint. He did not open the Capital One account, and soon learned that his daughter was listed as an authorized user. Port Washington residents report incidents involving damage to and theft from their vehicles.
No suspects have surfaced in two incidents involving Port Washington residents' vehicles. The first involves a 67-year-old Port Washington man who called police at 2 p.m. Friday to report the passenger side window of his truck was smashed, according to police reports. Though nothing was reported missing, police are not sure who caused the damage. But a 30-year-old Port woman did report the theft of her purse at 11:14 a.m. Jan. 6, according to reports. The woman said the purse was stolen from her car while parked overnight in the 1300 block of North Benjamin Street. Her car had been unlocked; no windows were broken.

An 18-year-old Saukville woman is accused of stealing gifts and other items from her stepfather's home.
An 18-year-old Saukville woman is accused of stealing $3,000 in goods and Christmas gifts from her stepfather’s home last week. Chelsea L. Krohn was charged in Ozaukee County Circuit Court on Thursday with one count of theft of more than $2,500. If convicted, she faces up to 1-½ years in prison and $10,000 in fines. According to the criminal complaint: On Dec. 10, a man living in the 300 block of Maple Lane contacted the Saukville Police Department after he discovered $3,080 in Christmas gifts, electronics, cash, gift cards and clothes were missing from his home.
