The 38-year-old Port Washington woman allegedly hit her 12-year-old son and then 13-year-old daughter on the wrists with a belt.
A Port Washington mom facing 30 years in prison and $100,000 in fines after being charged with hitting her two children with a belt entered a not guilty plea in court on Tuesday. The 38-year-old woman is charged with two counts of physical abuse of a child recklessly causing great bodily harm. The not guilty plea means the case is currently slated for trial, though no date has been set; the defendant will appear in court again at 10 a.m. Thursday for further proceedings. The woman is not being named to protect the children's identities. More allegations surface after Port resident Randy Mayer was charged with three felony counts of sexual assault of a child.
Since the criminal charges involving a Port Washington school bus driver accused of inappropriately touching students were made public, police received information from another family that their son experienced a similar behavior from Randy Mayer. The Port Washington police are currently investigating and will be interviewing the additional student, according to a press release from the department. Upon completing that interview, the additional investigation will be forwarded to District Attorney Adam Gerol for his review to decide if any additional charges will be filed. Mayer, 225 S. Two people involved in the accident told police that a friend had been driving the car — except he was nowhere to be seen.
A 31-year-old Saukville woman is facing charges after she was a passenger in a car that crashed into the back of Shopko Express in May and then told police someone else had been driving. Latoya E. Reddick, 538 N. Deerpass Rd., was charged in Ozaukee County Circuit Court on Wednesday with one count of obstructing an officer. If convicted, she faces up to nine months in prison and $10,000 in fines. Suspect admitted taking metal from town of Port Washington business in order to sell it for scrap.
A 33-year-old Port Washington man is facing up to 12-½ years in prison after he allegedly broke into a business he worked at part time in order to steal scrap metal. Timothy C. Bleichwehl, 213 E. Pier St., was charged in Ozaukee County Circuit Court on Dec. 1 with one count of burglary after he broke into the business located at 3750 Highland Drive, town of Port Washington. According to the criminal complaint: Bleichwehl broke into the business on Nov. 27 or 28 and took 12 to 14 radiators, which could be disassembled and sold for scrap. The missing radiators were valued at $500. The owner of the business told police he also noticed copper already taken from other radiators was also missing from the shop.
