Agreed. The "abuse" laws are applied loosely where it's convenient, and not applied where it is more difficult, but appropriate. Sometimes, at least. Not to say I think it's wonderful, but it's not a perfect simple decision or solution like "she must be a progressive" and that's why it happened... tempers flare on all sides of all spectrums and it's unfortunate when children are in the mix.

Nice hate speech.
I would bet that the person behind NObama 2012 is a judgmental person with little discernment.
And I would base this on the above statements of ignorance.
Please don't prove that Oz County is full of a lot of uneducated opinionated bigots. Just don't speak, or type... at all. -

Reply"So how many doctors have been prosecuted in the past year? Planned Parenthood seems to be stomping their feet, due to some common sense rules. You want easy abortions I want my guns, let's talk." Guns have WHAT to do with a woman's body? And all you self-righteous people, go feed the starving kids before saving fetuses, please.

ReplyYes. People walk anywhere at TJMS during voting. Anywhere and everywhere. It's never been a wise practice. If you haven't seen it, you may not share the sentiment. The place is already crowded and unmonitored, and this adds an element of chaos and potential safety concern that doesn't need to be continued any more now that it is being examined. No testing hypotheses please. I'd like to keep all the kids there in one piece and there's no time to reconsider that if we were wrong.
New venues: try library, city hall, Country Inn, Mr Z's warehouse, Courthouse. Close down courts for one day for voting if that's possible. -

I agree with Chris. For GG, it is inappropriate to his office, to his consituents, and caused a stir unnecessary, his position. He could have issued a press release on something important to far more people like jobs, economy, taxes, poverty, court reform... almost anything else.

This is good. I don't think the public should be IN our school buildings during the day at any time. The red tape you have to go through on any other day to gain access to your child during a school day should be enough to determine that this is a good decision not to allow the public inside a school on a regular school day without even normal security measures. It IS a pressing issue. The only thing disappointing here is that the district is reactionary and not pro-active in the majority of situations and issues. And some reactions are denial. This one was the right decision. I didn't like it since 2003 when I first noticed public voting inside a middle school. It's not appropriate to let the public in to our children's school, ever, regardless of the fact that no kid is likely to get shot. Being a voter doesn't make one NOT a pedofile or NOT an offender of any other sort. There is no security check to vote in the school. It doesn't compare to football games. That's a choice. School is not. Stop being petty with this. They made a tough decision and it's the right one, and it should have been made long ago if it was noticed that it was a direct violation of our kids' safety as outlined by the district, all along.
