'Screaming Flower Girl' From Port Washington Gains Fame in Viral Video

A Port Washington girl's howling reaction to her role in a wedding procession has been seen on America's Funniest Home Videos and is now roaring around YouTube.

A Port Washington girl is enjoying her 15 minutes of viral fame and then some for her screaming debut as a flower girl in a Port Washington couple's wedding.

The clip of 1:02 was shown last fall onΒ America's Funniest Home VideosΒ and has earned more than 600,000 YouTube views since being posted March 12.

Brian Barber, who lives in Port Washington with his wife and kids, said the video of his niece Taylor Peiffer as the flower girl in his wedding "has gone viral in the last few days."

"People are calling us (and saying), 'Oh my gosh,' I saw you guys on this channel,'" he said. "I think it's funny, but it's not that funny. Maybe because we lived it."

The video is from the Barbers' wedding on August 12, 2006 inside Friedens Evangelical Church as guests and the groom await the bride; but first, the flower girl and ring bearer are set to be coming down the aisle.

Here's a description of what happens taken from the YouTube video's posting:

"The flower girl was all ready for her big debut until ... her uncle in the back of church mixed up the order and tried to get her to hold hands with the ring bearer, her brother. As you can see, that didn't work. Believe it or not, everyone was worried about the littlest flower girl making it down. The ring bearer, her brother, was embarrased, did not want to wear a tux, hated the pillow, and was stomping like a dinosaur at the end. But, my sister wanted all her only nieces and nephew at the time in her wedding no matter if they made it down the aisle or not. In the end, it's the things that don't go right, that make your wedding unique."

Dani Peiffer, Taylor's mom, submitted the clip to AFHV last fall, and it made it on the show.Β

"She thinks its funny, she says she doesn't remember it and she can't believe it's her," Dani Peiffer said, adding that the timing has made things a bit more interesting.

"If I had released this 6 years ago it wouldn't have gone viral," she said. "It's been a crazy time, very unexpected and just a nice innocent fun clip to share with basically the world."
