Week Ahead: Get Ready for A Scare-Filled Halloween Weekend

A look ahead to what you need to know in Port Washington and Saukville this week.

Here are some highlights of the upcoming week in Port Washington and Saukville. There are just the essentials; Port Washington-Saukville Patch has its own events calendar and you are invited to enter your own events.

Port Washington-Saukville School District holds special meetings
The School District will host several meetings on Monday night starting at 5:30 p.m. with the Joint Finance/Policy Committee, with plans to discuss the fund balance and the Wisconsin Association of School Board's Resource Guide. At 6:15 the Personnel and Programs Committee will meet, with the employee manual and retirement issues on its agenda. At 7:15 p.m., a special school board meeting will be held to discuss the 2011-12 budget. All meetings are held in the office buildings.

Trick-or-treat: Halloween weekend is around the corner
Plenty of events will be going on all weekend long to celebrate the Halloween holiday, and a lot of them right here in our own backyards.

  • Partake in a mystery: Check out , at Old West themed mystery play that starts at 5 p.m. Saturday and includes a dinner.
  • A paranormal evening: Two ghost walks will be taking place in Port Washington; the and marina and ends up in the cemeter; the and includes a tour of historic downtown haunts and a candlelight exploration of Port Washington’s spooky necropolis.
  • Party all night: The is hosting a at 7 p.m. Saturday for people 21 and older. The event features costume contests, music, Halloween treats, prizes, drinks, a silent auction and more.
  • A crafty Halloween: Several Port Washington streets will be host to a all day Saturday featuring artisans, pumpkin carving contest, Taste of Autumn Bake-off, downtown trick-or-treating at the businesses and extended farmer's market hours.
  • Trick-or-treating hours: Trick-or-treating will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday in Port Washington, and 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday in Saukville.
