Charter Fishing in Port: 'We're Done' Offers Personal Experience

We're Done charter fishing Captain Dan Champeau quickly turned his love for fishing into a more time-consuming hobby when he retired and launched his business.

No longer working full time, Champeau said he had a lot of time on his hands — and his son suggested the business as something to keep him busy.

This is his eighth year running the charter.

"This year is an exceptional year (for fishing) — the chinooks came in early," he said.

Though he is back to working full-time because he has "more time than money," he still runs charters on nights and weekends, and also offers private boat rides.

Having worked in sales for 19 years, he said his favorite part about running the charters is conversations with his customers; Champeau said he does his best to offer a personal experience.

"People on this boat get a more real-life experience," he said.

We're Done runs 3-hour evening tours for $298 for a 6-person group; 5 hours runs $426 and his longest tour — 7 hours — costs $578. (All of these prices are without sales tax.) Private boat rides are $95 an hour, with a two hour minimum.
