Jam Out With Some 'Familiar Looking Strangers'

Band from abroad takes the stage to entertain local audience after chance encounter with a Port Washington musician years ago.

On a trip to England one year, Port Washington resident Bob Mittnacht visited the Cavern Club — a place in Liverpool where the Beatles started playing — and had a startup experience of his own.

Performing that night was "Familiar Looking Strangers." Mittnacht encouraged the group to come abroad to do a United States tour, according to Port resident Dan Laurence. And so, they did.
