VIDEO: Special Needs Puppy Looking for Loving, Playful Home

The Wisconsin Humane Society-Ozaukee Campus has plenty of dogs, cats and small animals available for adoption. This week meet Noah, a 4-1/2-month-old labrador retriever mix puppy who requires a little bit of extra attention but has lots of love to give.

The Wisconsin Humane Society-Ozaukee Campus has plenty of pets that are looking for a home. Available pets are showcased on the society's website, and Patch will feature the critters every week.

This week features Noah, a 4-month-old labrador retriever mix. Noah has a hopping-type gait in his front legs, which has been apparent since he was about 7-weeks-old, according to the Humane Society's website. This hopping is more apparent when he is excited or running; at a slower pace, Noah walks with a more normal step; he has no other health problems at the current time.

The course of Noah’s condition is uncertain.

"The elbow dysplasia could possibly progress and lead to arthritis of the elbows. More veterinary care could be required in the future. Follow-up radiographs may be recommended after a period of time if there is no improvement. There is always the possibility that a future surgery would even be needed," the website says.

At this time, it’s only recommended that Noah start on a glucosamine supplement and avoid high impact physical activity. With questions, call the shelter at 262-377-7580
