Masons to Donate $1,000 to Saukville Food Pantry

The Saukville Community Food Pantry will benefit from a planned $1,000 donation from the county Masons group.

The Free and Accepted Masons of Wisconsin, Ozaukee Lodge #17, will present Mark Gierach, Executive Director of the Saukville Community Food Pantry, with the $1,000 check on Tuesday.

"This is being done to assist in the immediate relief of the hungry in our community, regardless of the circumstances leading to their current necessity," according to a press release from the group. "These funds are attributable to the wages earned and the tips collected by Freemasons serving refreshments at the Main Stage tent during the week of the Ozaukee County Fair. We hope this donation will lead to the immediate relief of hunger and the uncertainty and anxiety that comes with it; this being especially true for children in our community."

The Free and Accepted Masons of Wisconsin is a not-for-profit organization devoted to reinforcing moral principles, assisting those suffering from unfortunate circumstances, and fostering friendship and cooperation among all people, according to the press release.
