6 More Thefts Reported Over 3 Days

Port Washington police continue to stay busy with a string of thefts hitting the city. The department took six more reports of thefts from mostly unlocked cars since Tuesday, meaning there have been more than 30 thefts from vehicles in Port Washington since May.

The thefts continue the crime trend that has also been affecting other communities in Ozaukee County. 

At 8:08 a.m. Tuesday, police responded to the700 block of North Montgomery Street where a 40-year-old Port Washington man said his portable DVD player was taken from his unlocked vehicle overnight.

At 9:28 a.m. Tuesday, another theft was reported by a 67-year-old Port Washington man in the 300 block of West Dodge Street. A pair of prescription glasses and $3 in change was taken from his unlocked vehicle.

At 3:24 p.m. Tuesday, a 21-year-old Port Washington woman said her vehicle — which was locked, but the windows were cracked — was entered overnight in the 200 block of South Madison Street. A wallet, iPod and fire department radio were taken.

At 10 a.m. Wednesday, a 52-year-old Port Washington woman reported change stolen from her unlocked vehicle parked in the 200 block of Pierre Lane.

At 11:38 a.m. Wednesday, a 52-year-old Port Washington man reported a Norelco razor, radar detector, glasses and blood pressure medication was taken from his unlocked car in the 700 block of West Grand Avenue.

At 10:03 a.m. Thursday, a 23-year-old Port Washington woman reported her vehicle had been entered overnight parked in the 100 block of South Spring Street. A PSP memory stick, a $10 bill and a cup full of change.
