Autopsy Results Confirm Man Committed Suicide in Upper Lake Park

Port Police Chief Richard Thomas says family of the 45-year-old Jackson man has been notified.

Port Washington Police Chief Richard Thomas said an official autopsy Wednesday morning showed a man whose body was found in on Tuesday afternoon died from a single self-inflicted gunshot wound.

"Based on the investigation, it appears that he had been distraught for quite a while and had been unemployed for about two years," Thomas said of the 45-year-old Jackson man. "The investigation shows while he was seeking help, he was in a depression."

Thomas said the man appeared to have been single, with no indication of of having any children. His family living in Jackson and elsewhere has been notified of his death.
