Drunk 911 Call Turns Out to be a Lie

A roundup of recent reports on the Port Washington police blotter also include a dog looking for a new home, loud noise at a local bar and a stolen dining pager.

They say that alcohol brings out honesty in people, but it clearly has the opposite effect as well.

Police spoke with a 29-year-old Port Washington man at 1:14 a.m. Friday after he called 911 saying he was hit while at Schooner Pub, 114 N. Franklin St., according to police reports.

Police responded to the bar and learned the man had lied about being hit, but still claime he was threatened, the report said.Β Bar staff told police the man was very drunk and had been kicked out.

  • House warming? Police responded to a call at 1:12 a.m. Dec. 9 about loud noise coming from The Port Hole, 201 W. Grand Ave. The caller said the music speakers were so loud the noise was shaking the complainant's home. The Port Hole recently opened, taking the former Spot's location.
  • Just sayin' hello: Maybe the stork left him there, or some version of that story. A resident in the 2200 block of Willow Pond Way called police at 9:33 a.m. Dec. 10 because a yellow lab dog was just chilling on her porch.Officers picked up the dog and found its actual owners.
  • Maybe she thought you'd call her back: Staff at The Pasta Shoppe, 323 N. Franklin St., called police at 4:34 p.m. Dec. 11 to notify them of a missing dining pager. An employee had walked off the job in possession of the pager last week. Police found the employee and got the pager back.
