Drunk 911 Call Turns Out to be a Lie

They say that alcohol brings out honesty in people, but it clearly has the opposite effect as well.

Police spoke with a 29-year-old Port Washington man at 1:14 a.m. Friday after he called 911 saying he was hit while at Schooner Pub, 114 N. Franklin St., according to police reports.

Police responded to the bar and learned the man had lied about being hit, but still claime he was threatened, the report said. Bar staff told police the man was very drunk and had been kicked out.

• Maybe she thought you'd call her back: Staff at The Pasta Shoppe, 323 N. Franklin St., called police at 4:34 p.m. Dec. 11 to notify them of a missing dining pager. An employee had walked off the job in possession of the pager last week. Police found the employee and got the pager back.
