Port Police Report: 15 Pumpkins Plant Themselves in Elderly Woman's Yard

Maybe they were just hoping she would make some pumpkin pie for the upcoming holiday.

A 76-year-old Port Washington woman called Port police at 7:44 a.m. Nov. 7 to report 15 pumpkins that had been placed in her yard by unknown subjects.

It looks like this elderly woman couldn't catch a break: the city street department decline to pick the pumpkins up, saying the homeowne could take them to the city yard for disposal.

Remember, she's elderly. She isn't about to carry 15 pumpkins to the city yard.

The officer who responded to the call disposed of the pumpkins for the woman.

  • Earn that check: A 20-year-old Port Washington woman called police at 2:47 p.m. Nov. 7 to report that Port House, 1040 S. Spring St., wouldn't pay her final paycheck to her upon termination. Port police cleaned their hands of the incident, as it is a civil matter and there is nothing they can do.
