Port Police Report: Resident Reports Theft from Unlocked Vehicle
A roundup of recent activity from the police blotter includes a drunken slap, a drunken wanderer, a drunk that wanted to keep on partying and an inappropriate threat from a student.
It might be time to start reminding people to lock their car doors again.
A 29-year-old Port resident called police at 7:19 p.m. Thursday to report a theft from his unlocked vehicle in the 200 block of West Chestnut Street. The thief had taken a Garmin GPS unit with charging cord in a Nintendo DS carrying case.
This is just a couple weeks earlier than the time period when in Port last year.

About three dozen thefts from cars in Port Washington and Saukville occurred last year between May and August — , and resulting in nearly $9,000 in lost property. The .

- Smack that: Some people just don't understand the meaning of, "get out." Police responded to a call at 1:44 a.m. from , 219 N. Franklin St. The bouncer had been attempting to remove a 25-year-old Grafton man from the tavern, but the man refused to leave and struck the bouncer in the face. - But, what about after bar? Maybe he's used to partying a little harder in Minnesota (right ... anybody else catch the irony in that?) Staff at , 551 N. Wisconsin St., called police because a 22-year-old Minnesota man was standing outside the bar and would not leave at 2:56 a.m. April 29. The man was upset that he had been locked out, despite the fact that it was closing time. Police explained to him that it was closing time, and took him to the hotel where he was staying.
- That's almost like shouting 'bomb' on a plane: Police responded to the at 2:46 p.m. April 30 after a 16-year-old said she wished she had a gun after an interaction with staff. She was cited for disorderly conduct and suspended from school.
