The 42-year-old Port Washington resident said he left without paying because he was unhappy with his meal, and he is now making arrangements with restaurant management to settle the bill.

Editor's note: This article has been update to include a clarification regarding the reasons the George Webb customer did not pay his bill.

It's probably safe to say that most people have consumed a meal they didn't totally enjoy, or received a wrongly made order while dining at a restaurant.

But most people probably don't do what this guy did.

At 12:38 p.m. July 1, Port Washington police got a call about a man who had left , 1040 S Spring St., without paying.

The order included a cheese curd appetizer and three burgers; the appetizer came first β€” per usual. When the main course was delivered, it consisted of two burgers and another appetizer.

The man told the waitress he planned to discuss the bill and incorrect order with the owner and pay her directly, he said in an e-mail to Patch. However, the waitstaff seemed unwilling to allow him to talk it over with management, and asked that he pay the bill anyway.

When the man refused, the staff called police. Management is now working to settle the bill with the Port resident β€” but it's unlikely he will be doing any dishes.
