Port Police Seeking Tips on Thefts

Port Washington Police Chief Richard Thomas reminds residents of anonymous tip line, which also provides $50 reward for calls leading to arrests.

While Port Washington police seek suspects in , Police Chief Richard Thomas wants to remind anybody with information about crimes to dial the anonymous tip line to help in the investigation.

"If anyone out there in the community is aware of the person or persons responsible for these thefts … we certainly would like them to give us a call," he said.

The department has responded to several calls of missing items from vehicles in the past couple weeks. The vehicles were parked in the 200 block of East Pierron Street, the 1000 block of North Benjamin Street and the 1100 block of North Holden Street. In two of these cases, the cars were unlocked but parked in driveways.

People with information will remain anonymous by calling (262) 268-7682. Messages left on the hotline are checked regularly throughout the day, and callers providing tips leading to arrests will be eligible for a $50 reward.
