Port Washington Police Report: Thief Takes GPS, Change From Unlocked Car

A roundup of the latest activity from the police reports.

Police responded to a report of stolen items at 1:30 p.m. May 9 in the 1000 block of North Benjamin Street.

A 32-year-old Port Washington man said his GPS and $20 in change were taken from his vehicle overnight, which was parked unlocked in the driveway at his house.

Police have no suspects in the theft at this time.

  • Don’t take the stairs: Police visited the Port Terrace Apartments at 10:30 a.m. Thursday regarding a report that the concrete steps had been damaged by two kids in the neighborhood. The complainant said the kids had used a large block to bang on the steps. The site manager planned to pursue the issue with the parents.
  • Is that an earthquake? Police responded to a complaint of music so loud it was shaking the resident’s walls in the 400 block of West Oakland Avenue at 3:44 p.m. Friday. Officers  warned a 16-year-old male for loud and necessary noise after the boy admitted to having his music up.
