Victim Sent to Hospital After Sunday Morning Hit-and-Run

Officers from the Port Washington Police Department witnessed the hit-and-run accident early Sunday morning; the suspect was later apprehended in Upper Lake Park.

Officers from the  in the city's downtown early Sunday morning witnessed a hit-and-run accident that sent the pedestrian to the hospital.

The 22-year-old victim, a Port Washington man, was transported via ambulance to Froedtert Medical Center in Milwaukee, according to Port Washington Police Chief Kevin Hingiss; Hingiss could not provide details on the severity of the victim's injuries.

The incident occured at 1:33 a.m. Sunday in the 100 block of Franklin Street. The driver, a 20-year-old Saukville man, sped away but was later apprehended in , Hingiss said. Requests for charges of hit-and-run causing injury have been sent to the district attorney's office.
