PD: Woman Dumps Snow into Car, Citing Shoveling Dispute

A 22-year-old Port Washington woman was given a disorderly conduct citation after being caught on tape shoveling snow into her relative's neighbor's car, citing an ongoing dispute between her relative and the neighbor as motive.

A Port Washington officer was near Washington and Franklin streets at 2:42 p.m. Feb. 28 when a Port resident flagged him down and said a neighbor had just contacted him saying she had video of a woman shoveling snow into his car, the police report said. The officer asked the man why someone would be doing this, and he told the officer that there was an ongoing dispute between him and his neighbor regarding the "quality of who does the shoveling."

The officer told the man that if he could provide proof this was happening, police would be able to follow up, according to the report. After meeting with the woman who had captured the act on video, the man again contacted police.

The video shows two women shoveling, and then one of the women prying open the man's window and putting snow in his car, the police report said. The car window was damaged, and is held together by duct tape, the man said; the woman was prying open the taped area.

Police responded to the residence where the two women had been shoveling. The resident there said it was her "sister-in-law removed," who had been shoveling with her, and who had put the snow in the vehicle. The suspect does not reside at the residence, nor have a permanent address; but the woman advised police that an address they had on file was her sister-in-law's parents.

Police eventually made contact with the 22-year-old's parents, leaving a disorderly conduct citation for $208.50 with her father to be passed along. The resident who caught this all on film later contacted police to let them know about some derrogatory statement's made on Facebook by the 22-year-old's relative about the neighbor who's car that had been filled with snow.
