$9.8M Bridge Construction on I-43 Causes Overnight Closures
Construction will also cause 1-lane traffic and closures of some of the bridges in Ozaukee County.

Crews are preparing to roll out the orange barrels on a $9.8 million bridge rehabilitation project on Interstate 43 between Sauk Road and the north Ozaukee County line in Ozaukee County, according to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation.
The contractor, Lunda Construction, is expected to start work Monday, and work will continue through 2014. The work during this construction season consists of the rehabilitation of four bridges over I-43, including Sauk Road, North Woods Road, County B, and WIS 32/County H.
The bridges will be closed to through-traffic during construction, except for the WIS 32/County H bridge north of downtown Port Washington, which will be staged in halves to allow for two-way traffic.
A short-term series of overnight closures are scheduled for this summer, as well. Additional work during 2013 includes shoulder repaving along northbound and southbound I-43, which will require Monday-Friday lane closures.
The project will shut down for the winter in late November. Work will resume in the spring of 2014.
