New Senior Center Site Now a Work in Progress

Renovation work is tracking for spring completion.

Renovations are underway and moving apace at 403 W. Foster St., the new site for the .  

Work at the new site, the former location of Franklin Energy, began a week ago, including removal of some walls and flooring, Ald. Michael Ehrlich told the city council Tuesday. 

“They’re moving along very quickly," Ehrlich said. "We are on schedule to be done with everything except the elevator by April 14.”

The elevator will take 8 to 12 weeks once it's ordered, Erlich said, which means the new center could easily expect an elevator by May 15.

The center will move from its near downtown location in the historic firehouse, at 102 E. Pier St., to the new facility once the $230,000 renovation project is complete.  J.H. Hassinger Inc., of Menomonee Falls, is contractor for the project. The city is hoping for a .
