Photos: Windy Weather Blows Through Port

At least one tree in the city lost its top because of the weather — what did you see blow away?

The Port Washington and Saukville area were under a wind advisory on Thursday and Friday. Residents saw winds from 30 to 35 mph with gusts of 50 to 60 mph, according to the National Weather Service, which caused at least one tree top in the city to snap off.

Charles Betka, a Port Police Reserve and crossing guard, submitted photos of a tree in front of his home on East Monroe Street.

"The entire top of the tree snapped off during the high winds," Betka said in an e-mail. "The tree top has been removed by City of Port Street Department workers and the tree has been marked for removal later this year."
