Ninth-Ranked Pirates Cross Country Team Wins Invite at Tendick Park

The Port Washington boys cross country team is ranked ninth in the WIAA Division 1 by the state coaches association. Check out this video from Thursday's meet.

Port Washington Boys Cross Country Team, which is ranked ninth in the state in Division 1 by the Wisconsin Cross Country Coaches Association, took first place at the 33rd annual Port Washington Invitational held at Tendick Park in Saukville on Thursday.

The top finisher for Port was senior Jason Marhal, placing second overall with a time of 16:20, followed by Nick Michalowski (fifth), Jack Skelton-Miller (seventh), Eagan Norman (12th), Alex Balister (14th), Billy Ernest (15th) and Taylor Godersky (29th). The varsity boys field was comprised of 13 teams. The Pirates finished first with team total of 40 points, followed by West Bend West with 50 and Cedarburg scoring 70. The overall individual winner was Alec Miller of West Bend West with a time of 16:14. The Pirates next meet will be the North Shore Conference Championship on Oct. 13 also at Tendick Park.

Port Washington's girls did not field a complete team. Finishers were Bianca Benkley (13th), Abby Kotecki (51st), Maggie Kotecky (57th) and Brenna Russell (87th).
