The Timber Rattler's mascot visited the school, which is also celebrating Catholic Schools Week.

Port Catholic students are keeping busy with a variety of activities to celebrate Catholic Schools Week β€” delcared as Jan. 30 to Feb. 5.

The theme at the school is "Serve others as I have served you," Principal Lee Kaschinska said, "and the kids have picked a person that exemplifies that."

On top of Catholic Schools Week, the kids also got a visit from Fang, the rattle snake mascot of the Timber Rattlers minor league baseball team of Appleton.

The reading program involves four, two-week sessions in which the kids can "run the bases," so to speak. A homerun gets the students a ticket to the June 12 game, as well as a free hot dog and soda.
