Port Group Calls for Changes to Saukville Rebels Football Program

If changes are not made, a new group may be started to replace the Saukville youth football club.

Port Washington High School officials are threatening the launch of its own football club if the Saukville Rebels doesn't make a few changes.

Officials say the Saukville Rebels program selectively chooses the children who play in the youth football program, rather than taking an inclusive approach to coaching so that kids can develop their skills, according to an Ozaukee Press article. Port officials also had concerns over how Rebels' coaches conduct themselves around the kids.

Saukville Rebels' president denied claims made by the officials, the article said; the president also said he hoped to work with high school staff in creating an approach more cohesive with the high school's strategy.
